Deporvillage records its best sales campaign ever

Exceeding 24 million, it grew more than 140% compared to last year

 

The leading sports e-commerce in Spain, Deporvillage, has once again beaten all its records in this unusual year. At the close of the winter sales campaign, which ran from Christmas to February, the company recorded a turnover of 24.5 million euros, representing an extraordinary growth of 140% over the same period in 2020. With cycling and outdoor as the main categories, the fitness section has climbed multiple positions due to the home training phenomenon.

 

With more than 400,000 customers around the world, Deporvillage continues on its way towards its goal of reaching 175 million by the end of 2021. The success of the first sales campaign of the year shows the consolidation of a project that recently turned 10 years old, and that remains as one of the Spanish e-commerce companies with greater international projection, as explained by Xavier Pladellorens CEO at Deporvillage.

 

The results of the winter sales, in short, have maintained the trend of a 2020 marked by the new reality and its mobility restrictions for the practice of sport. As a result, although cycling and outdoor products continue to lead sales on the platform, both the supply and demand for fitness products aimed at home training has grown significantly.

 

In cycling, in addition to roller trainers, which continue to be a highly demanded product, the purchase of components such as brakes, inner tubes, tyres, cleats and bike maintenance products, as well as electronic gadgets and GPS has stood out. Another important phenomenon has been the increase in the online purchase of bicycles, with about 1000 units sold in this period, both road, gravel, triathlon and urban, noting a great uptake in the latest brands included in the catalogue.

 

Finally, the mobile phone remains the most-used browsing device for the majority of customers with a significant increase in the female audience being detected, with women having increased their purchasing of sports equipment.
