Deporvillage encourages the purchase of sustainable products

It now incorporates the Sustainability search filter on its site and will plant a tree for every sustainable item sold to celebrate World Environment Day

Deporvillage, the leading sports e-commerce in Spain continues to promote actions aimed at the conservation of the planet. There is the reforestation campaign that is currently under way, fuelled by the purchase of Finisseur Core Recycled jerseys, for which a tree is planted for each sale of this product, a new search filter has been added this month on its platform based on the sustainable qualities of the products it sells, such as water saving ,   reducing emissions during their manufacture, the use of recycled materials, or veganism, which implies the non-use of animal-derived products. The launch of this new filter coincides with the celebration of World Environment Day, an important date that will be associated with a special campaign for the sale of sustainable products.

According to Greenpeace data, every year 8.8M hectares of forest disappear in the world, a massive deforestation that directly affects ecosystems and, consequently, the global climate, and which is aggravated by a significant increase in greenhouse gas emissions. A panorama that worries, and much, to those responsible for Deporvillage, lovers of nature as an incomparable environment for sports, and essential for the development of our general welfare. That is why the company is committed to the implementation of environmental initiatives, which began with the incorporation of recycled cardboard in all its shipments and with the collaboration in the reforestation project of trees in the world managed by the NGO Tree-Nation.

From this month, it has also decided to add a new filter ‘Sustainability’, which identifies those products whose production is environmentally responsible, as it is based on clean and non-polluting procedures, reusing waste, using renewable energy, or avoiding the use of materials derived from animals. This filter allows users to select products from each category according to their sustainable characteristics: water saving, recycled materials, emission reduction or vegan.

In addition, all the products of the wide catalogue of Deporvillage that comply with these characteristics, can be perfectly identified with icons in the “sustainability” section of its product page.

The activation of the new filter has coincided with the imminent celebration of World Environment Day (Saturday 5th of June), established by the United Nations (UN) and which this year focuses on the restoration of ecosystems with the slogan “Reimagine, recreate, restore”, to demand urgent action to restore life to our damaged ecosystems. To celebrate such an important cause Deporvillage is committing to plant a tree for every sustainable product sold through its platform over the weekend, and in doing so will give a significant boost to its virtual forest enabled on the Tree-Nation platform.
