87% of deporvillage shoppers have set themselves a sporting challenge for 2024

A survey conducted among the deporvillage community shows the high specialisation of its customers and their competitive spirit

Deporvillage, the shop specialising in cycling, running and outdoor sports, counts among its customers medium and advanced sports enthusiasts. In fact, 87% of them have set a sporting challenge for this year, which shows their commitment to sport, beyond an initiation practice, leisure or health, but showing a hobby that exceeds the average.

Among the more daring ones who have made this New Year’s resolution, 63% of them want to overcome a cycling challenge, 20% want to take on a running challenge and 6% want to participate in a triathlon, showing the strength of sports such as cycling among deporvillage consumers.

The challenges of these athletes are varied, but 83% of them state that their challenge is to participate in or complete a race and 88% want to beat a personal best, but almost all of them seem to focus on the sport they already do, with only 25% stating that they are interested in taking up a new sport.

Among the sporting events mentioned by the participants in the survey are the cycling championships of the different federations, such as the Spanish Championship, the Spanish Cup, the Andalusian Championship, the Galician Championship and the Canary Islands Championship. The big cyclotours such as the Purito, the Quebrantahuesos or the Madrid 7 peaks are also mentioned. The followers of deporvillage also talk about doing an Ironman or running the Madrid or Valencia marathons. Challenges that show that web users are not just starting out as athletes, but are looking to take it to the next level.

As Alex Reina, Business Director of deporvillage says our followers are very specialised users, with a great competitive spirit who are constantly looking for new challenges and we are their brand ally to help them improve and achieve their goals”.

The data was obtained through an online survey carried out during the month of January and answered by more than 400 deporvillage users.
